Sound Proof: Music takes on Architecture at the Schönbrunnerstr. 111

The musical transformation of the Schönbrunnerstr. building will take place late in the evening on 14 September 2013. The concept is to play with the acoustical possibilities of the building by placing four classically trained musicians at various floors and positions of the building.  The music and light installation will play with the emotional, acoustical and spatial atmospheres of the building and explore the possibilities of making the invisible heard, and the rest up to the imagination. The musicians’ movements between pieces will also be reflected through site specific musical material. The score incorporates the builidng itself as a platform for musical experimentation and is written specifically for this location. Music composed by the two violinists, Emer Kinsella and Maria Salamon. Lights will interact with the musical performance and create a visual aspect to this mystical late night open air performance environment.
